Visual Communications: Rhythm and Balance

Labrynth Tree.jpg

Using rhythm and balance, I was able to design an assymetrically balanced artwork with repeating forms and shapes. By placing the image of the tree towards the center, so that the branches lean towards the left-side of the artwork, it gives the piece more contrast by utelizing a composistion with strong stability. Rhythm is used in my artwork with the repetition of shapes and forms, such as the leaves, branches, and wrinkles on the tree. Used together, both rhythm and balance can create unity in an artwork, and really brings the composistion together as a whole.
